Oracle VM Manager: OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection Refused

Oracle_VM_Manager_OVMAPI_6000E InternalError_ConnectionRefusedThis is a generic error that you may get when trying to login to OVM manager console for the first time after fresh install. To see what exactly is causing this error you have to grep through OVM log files:

grep -i “error”  /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/machine1/base_adf_domain/servers/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer*

/u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/machine1/base_adf_domain/servers/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer-diagnostic.log:[2013-12-10T19:19:10.209-05:00] [AdminServer] [ERROR] [] [com.oracle.ovm.mgr.faces.backing.Login] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: ‘3’ for queue: ‘weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)’] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: 2f643de88442ba0f:7f36ad5c:142929596a4:-8000-000000000000015b,0] [APP: ovm_console] Unexpected error during login (com.oracle.ovm.mgr.api.exception.FailedOperationException: OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection refused Connection refused [Tue Dec 10 19:19:10 EST 2013]), please consult logs for details. OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection refused Connection refused [Tue Dec 10 19:19:10 EST 2013]

One cause of this error (which was my case) is time skew.  The OVM server’s time was 1 day behind.
To solve this issue, login to the server (root) and update the time.

# date --set="11 DEC 2013 13:28:00"

Bounce/restart the OVM manager service

# service ovm-consoled restart

Now you should be able to login to OVM console.

My system BTW is using the ff:

Oracle VM Manager
Version: 3.2.6.726
Build: 20130819_726

cat /etc/ovs-release
Oracle VM server release 3.2.6
